Adia was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where she lived until she went to college. She really enjoyed living in Portland because there are so many public parks, and she was only a few hours from the beach even though she lived in the city.
When Adia was in 4th grade, she decided to be a physician. She has a real passion to help people become healthy.
“Seeing people’s lives improve and become healthier is the most rewarding part of practicing medicine.”
Preventative care is important to Adia. She believes that if sickness can be avoided, then the quality of life is so much richer.
“Success is when I can say that the patient and I worked together to make a plan that was successful.”
Adia doesn’t look at a patient’s past health choices, she focuses on how the present and the future can be changed. Today is a new day. She looks at the whole body and life, not just parts of the body when approaching solutions to poor health.
Outside the office, Adia places a high priority on time spent with her family, and has a real and close relationship with God.
“I feel that the patient and I must work as a team, and the patient should always know what is going on with their health to make educated decisions together.”
